ABOUT
From lived experience to holding space
Meet Virginia Worley, Counselor in San Marcus,TX
THERE’S MORE THAN JUST GETTING through the DAY.
This Work Begins Where You Are
I work with individuals—including veterans—who are ready to examine how they got here and what’s no longer working. In a judgment-free space, we’ll explore the beliefs, roles, and expectations that have shaped you—many of which may not have been yours to begin with. This work is about reconnecting with who you are beneath all of that.
Along the way, I’ll offer tools and frameworks to help you reframe your past with clarity and compassion, quiet the internal critic, and start responding to life from a place of choice—not just habit or survival. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of yourself and a clearer sense of what it means to move forward in a life that feels real, grounded, and fully your own.
MY APPROACH
Therapy here isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Some days we’ll untangle deep-rooted beliefs. Other days, we’ll sit with hard feelings, not to fix them, but to understand what they’re asking of you. This space is structured but flexible—guided by evidence-based tools and your inner pacing.
You won’t be pathologized, rushed, or talked over. Instead, you’ll be met with curiosity, clarity, and respect for your lived experience—whether you’re rebuilding after trauma, navigating identity shifts, or simply tired of feeling stuck.
Rooted in Collaboration
We work together—not from a top-down model. I listen closely, offer reflections, and adapt the work to your needs, pace, and readiness.
A Space Without Pretending
No need to censor, over-explain, or manage how you’re perceived. This is a space to be real, even when that feels unfamiliar.
A Trauma-Informed Lens
Whether or not you’re coming in with a trauma story, this space is built to avoid retraumatization. Safety, agency, and consent are foundational.
When we begin our work…
We’ll have our first session online via a secure video platform, then you can choose whether you’d like to continue that way or have future sessions at my office in San Marcus.
Frequency of sessions is totally up to you and what works best for your budget. I do ask, however, that we meet at least every other week for the first 5 – 10 visits so we can establish a strong foundation together.

She integrates psychodynamic, relational, and client-centered approaches, tailoring each treatment to the specific emotional and psychological needs of the individual.
While trained in a wide range of mental health concerns, her primary focus lies in addressing the lingering effects of unresolved trauma. She incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT to facilitate meaningful and lasting change. Recognizing that insight alone is not always sufficient, her work supports clients in moving beyond intellectual understanding to embodied healing.
